We hope that Celeste can be a place that brings people together, where everyone and anyone is welcome, in memory and celebration of loved ones - whilst offering a unique sip of culture here in Cheshire.
Whether you're after the classics, or something a little different...we have a selection of drinks inspired by our loved ones, family recipes and flavours close to our hearts.
Coffee was our first passion over at our first shop (ABDA, Northwich). We proudly serve our own ABDA House Blend of speciality Grade A beans and are passionate about creating expertly brewed coffee.
At Celeste, you can enjoy flavours from all over the world through our cocktail, wines and tapas menu.
Originating from Sudan, our owner Abda is a linguist speaking four languages (English, Arabic, Spanish and Italian) and has travelled to and lived in multiple countries across the world. Abda's culture influences a lot of the flavours we create, ingredients we use, recipes we cook, interior decor of the shop, the way we work closely together and the values we hold as a business, team and family.

Celeste is our owner Abda's Argentinian sister.
In a funny twist of fate, in 2012 Abda spent some time living in Argentina with the Bayala/Herman family (Liz, Sol and Celeste) and they took her under their wing like a third sister/daughter.
Abda fell in love with Buenos Aires and the Bayala/Herman family too.

In 2022, we opened our second business Hala, named after our Mama.
So for our third business, we chose to honour our second Argentinian Madre Liz and her daughters, meaning all of our businesses are named in celebration of the matriarchal women in our lives!
Liz is the most fantastic, resilient character and is the true definition of a Matriarch. She took Abda in and treated her as her own. She dedicates her life and all her love to her family, bringing everyone together with a whole lot of love and care - and this is what we would like to replicate with our shop.
Celeste quickly became like a big sister to Abda. Not only is she a dedicated daughter, sister, mum and friend; Celeste's personality embodies everything we want our shop to represent. The quote "friendships stand the test of time and distance" has never been more apt. Despite life's chaos, distance, language, culture and time, Celeste's friendship and connection has been one of a kind. The essence of our connection has and will always be formed in love.

Sadly, we lost Sol far too early in 2016.
She embodied everything her name suggests; her presence lit up every room she walked into and she brought so much joy to our lives. Our idea was initially to name our business after Sol, but due to obvious branding reasons this perhaps wasn't going to work, so we decided to dedicate our bar to the whole family, naming it after our sister Celeste, but incorporating both of our sisters through our use of colours and menu.
Abda is our owner, and is the heart and soul of what we do. She has taken both customers and staff under her wing and has created a space and community where everyone feels welcome, included, and appreciated. She has truly created another home and family for us all.
Originally from Sudan, Abda brings a global perspective to the business, and also the speciality coffee industry - shaped by a lifetime of travel, cultural exploration, and connection. A linguist who speaks four languages, she has lived in and visited countries across the world, gaining first-hand experience of diverse cultures, traditions, and communities.
Throughout her travels, Abda discovered that food and drink are often the most authentic expression of a culture's identity - offering a window into its history, values, and way of life. This belief has become a cornerstone of the business, inspiring a passion for sharing cultures, stories, and experiences through hospitality.
Drawing on recipes, flavours, and traditions passed down through family and friends, Abda influences the core aspects of the menus and customer experience. From introducing unique ingredients and cultural food traditions, to shaping the values that underpin the business, her heritage and experiences help create an environment that celebrates diversity, community, and connection.
Abda is passionate about education and cultural storytelling. She is a regular speaker at the Manchester Coffee Festival, delivering annual talks that explore the history, culture, and traditions of coffee. She has also appeared as a panellist at the Liverpool Coffee Festival and has presented live demonstrations at the Nantwich Food Festival, sharing knowledge, experiences, and insights with both industry professionals and the wider public. Abda is passionate about bringing these influences to Cheshire, using food, coffee, and hospitality as a way to introduce customers to new cultures, spark conversations, and create memorable experiences that bring people together.
Sophie's career has evolved into a multifaceted role spanning speciality coffee, hospitality, catering, and creative brand development. Inspired by allergies within her family, she developed expertise in baking and catering for specific dietary requirements, specialising in gluten-free, vegan, and allergen-conscious products.
Alongside this, Soph has spent over eight years working as a barista across multiple venues and events, and has become increasingly immersed in the speciality coffee industry. She has curated coffee menus, worked closely with roasters and producers, and represented the business at industry events including the Liverpool and Manchester Coffee Festivals. Her passion for coffee continues to shape the customer experience across the business, from menu development to education and community engagement.
With a background in photography and design, Soph also leads the creative direction of the brand. She manages social media, photographs products, venues, events and retail offerings, and designs marketing campaigns, menus, and websites. Drawing on ideas from across the team, she helps create menus and experiences that reflect the collective personality and values of the business.
Over more than eight years working across the coffee shops, cake and catering business, and cocktail and wine bar, Soph has developed a strong understanding of how to balance commercial success with authenticity. Her approach combines creativity, quality, and attention to detail, ensuring the business remains true to its ethos while continuing to evolve and meet customer demand.
