Create Your Own Pure Plant-Based Candle!

Enjoy the art of natural candle-making in this hands-on workshop, where you'll explore essential oils and craft a bespoke candle that reflects your personal scent preferences. Choosing from 30 carefully curated essential oils, you'll blend, experiment, and design a unique fragrance to infuse into a luxurious soy-coconut wax candle housed in an elegant amber apothecary jar.

Workshop Flow…

1. Introduction to Candle-Making (5 minutes)

Learn about the benefits of using pure plant-based ingredients like soy-coconut wax and essential oils.

2. Scent Exploration and Accord Blending (20 minutes)

Understanding Accords: Learn how to blend top, middle, and base notes to create a harmonious fragrance. We each blend a sample accord and label it. From the lubrary of accords that our group creates, we can better understand our choices.

Top Notes: Fresh and light scents like lemon or mint.

Middle Notes: Heart of the fragrance such as geranium or chamomile.

Base Notes: Deep and grounding scents like sandalwood, benzoin or patchouli.

3. Finalizing Your Signature Blend (10 minutes)

Once you've found your perfect combination of essential oils, measure out precise ratios for your blend under guidance from the instructor.

Name your custom fragrance!

4. Pouring Your Candle (20 minutes)

Melt the soy-coconut wax blend to the ideal temperature for combining with essential oils.

Mix your custom fragrance into the melted wax while learning about the temperatures for flash points and crystalisation.

Carefully pour your wax into an amber apothecary jar with a pre-set wick.

5. Finishing Touches (30 minutes)

While your candle cools and sets, decorate your jar with a personalized label featuring the name of your blend.
